15 European nations ask Israel to stop plans for additional unlawful settlements on West Bank

Fifteen European nations, on Friday, encouraged Israel to stop plans for additional unlawful settlements in the West Bank, as indicated by an authority articulation, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Repeating the joint assertion, a representative for the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office said, “The UK is worried by the Government of Israel’s choice to propel the development of the north of 4,000 new settlement structures across the involved West Bank.”

“The UK’s position is that settlements are unlawful under worldwide regulation. We encourage Israel to invert this choice,” the representative added.

The assertions came after the EU, on Thursday, censured Israel’s new endorsement of plans to extend unlawful Israeli settlements in the involved West Bank.

“The European Union denounces and profoundly laments the present endorsement, by Israeli specialists, of plans for progressing north of 4,400 lodging units, further growing unlawful settlements across the involved West Bank,” EU Foreign Policy Chief, Josep Borrell, said in an articulation.

Prior to Friday, Turkiye additionally sentenced the designs to extend unlawful Israeli settlements.

The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is viewed as an involved area under worldwide regulation, accordingly making all Jewish settlements there unlawful.
